Senior RF Telecommunication Engineer (m/f)

In the course of enforcing and expanding its satellite subsystem and system competence, LuxSpace is recruiting an experienced Telecommunication Systems Engineer (10y+) for immediate employment.

Job Profile:
An experienced (10y+) Telecommunication Systems Engineer, with a profound understanding of the end-to-end digital radio telecommunication chain, is required to participate in the design / development of RF telecommunication systems for satellites.

The actual engineering tasks are located in the TT&C subsystem – with an extension to digital radio communication payload development for LuxSpace own micro satellites. Activities comprise requirements and architectural engineering of communication subsystems as well as supervision of subcontractors.

A good knowledge of space RF electronics is considered a plus.
Several years of experience is a must.

Required Skills and Tasks to be performed:
  • Fundamental parameters of antennas
  • RF system analysis and design
  • Digital modulations schemes and signal processing
  • Working knowledge of channel coding
  • Telecommunication system end-to-end performance analysis and trade-off studies
  • Worst Case- FMECA analysis
  • Elaboration of requirement specification. Flow down from System- to equipment- requirements and their justification
  • Simulation on system level
  • Provision of design documentation like: Technical notes, design description, worst case analysis etc.
  • Review of design documentation from external suppliers and participation to review meetings
  • Supervising suppliers
Candidate Profile and Qualities:
  • University degree (Master/Diploma/PhD) or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of work experience, gained in a professional position
  • Proven background and experience to work in the Aerospace industry, preferably with ESA
  • Strong background in satellite Digital Radio telecommunication systems (preferable for small/micro satellites)
  • General knowledge of RF electronic circuits and the application of respective simulation tools for design and analysis (incl. EMC)
  • Specific knowledge of electronic components for space (desirable)
  • Languages: Good English language skills (spoken and written), German and/or French knowledge will be considered an asset
  • Good communication capabilities, analytical sense and priority setting abilities
  • Methodical and structured work-approach, results-oriented
  • Self-motivated; taking responsibility and being proactive
  • Ability to work and interface with and/or lead a multinational team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Driving license desirable (class B)
